Auditor Training Workshop – December 2007 About the Workshop The workshop offers a full two-day program led by AUQA staff and involving AUQA auditors and external stakeholders. The workshop uses a mix of plenary discussion sessions and small group role-play exercises to explore various aspects of quality audit and of the AUQA audit method. The workshop is attended by AUQA Auditors after they have been approved by the AUQA board to be honorary auditors and fee-paying participants with an interest in quality audits. In this workshop the participants in the former category will include people drawn from non self-accrediting (higher education) institutions (NSAIs), or who are experienced in the approval processes required of NSAIs. In previous workshops the participants in the latter category have included eg Deputy and/or Pro Vice-Chancellors, university academic staff responsible for drafting performance portfolio, quality managers and industry representatives. An extract of an actual institutional Performance Portfolio is used as the basis of discussion in small groups, and participants simulate the tasks of an audit panel - analysing the Portfolio and identifying audit trails; obtaining evidence through interviews; and synthesising information to reach conclusions. The workshop program also includes sessions exploring:
To ensure that the workshop format is successful, we can only accept a maximum of 35 registrations. Further more, registrations will be limited to no more than two persons per institution or agency (persons who are also AUQA Auditors are not included in this number). Participants will be registered on a first come first served basis.
An informal group dinner is organised for the Monday evening for those wishing to attend.
Fee-paying registrants are asked to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Click here to view Workshop program |
